X-mas, Windows, Doors & Chimichanga's?

My Grandma and I. We had a real nice Christmas Dinner (at noon) at my Grandma's place. I tried not to eat too much food because I was going to another dinner later on, but the food was really good. They had this smoked salmon appetizer thing that I had way too much of. Anyway, it was really nice to spend it with me Grandma.

There is me with my gift of cologne. I was very happy to get some new smells to cover up the old smells, which I don't mean to say that I smell, just that I need something to cover them...I'm going to stop. I liked my Christmas present. Polo smells good, now I smell good. Whatever.

The picture didn't come out that good, but the food did. It is a baked chicken chimichanga with refried beans. Hell yeah it was good, and except for the beans, good for ya.

It does not look like much, but this is the culmination of days of work on the window. There were three or four sets of curtains, drapes, and a shade on the window. All the holes that they made were just the tip of the iceberg, the drapes held in moisture that condensed on the bottom of the window and seeped into the frame. It also took off some paint revealing a not so pleasant alabaster color underneath. I still have another round of caulking and sanding to do before I prime and paint the walls. Not looking forward to the painting, but I can't wait for afterward.

This is a very simple cover to a very annoying problem I had. The original set up for the front door had a real puffy, very girly, cover over the window in the door. I took down the puffy cover but you could see right through the house with the window uncovered. Plus there are 12 holes in the door holding up the bars going across the top and bottom. So I went to a fabric store and picked up the tan material, but I didn't know how to put it up.

So...
No laughing, but I sat down and learned how to use my Grandmothers 1950 Singer sewing machine so I could put up that door cover thing. It took almost three hours of messing around with this well-kept sewing machine. I made a mess, but I did it. Not sure if it was worth it, or worth admitting it. :)
