Hola!

Hi Shyama! Hi Amanda! I hope Arizona is treating you well. Amanda, do you still have to get up at the ridiculous crack of dawn five days a week? I still think I am getting up earlier then you, I have been setting the alarm for 7am so that would be 4am your time. I win, right?

My new part-time job has started off a bit slower then I wished. They want me to learn the menu and everything from serving on the floor. So, due to my natural tendency to please, I offered to work whenever they need me. Now I am on the early morning Sunday serving shift. Boooo. First, I think I miss football, and second, I have to wait on a bunch of blue hairs who donated all their money to god at church so they can't leave a good tip. Oh well, its a part-time gig. The restaurant itself is nice, it is a 1930's to 1940's Americana style with country cookin'. Anyway, the place is called Cagney's and it is in Norfolk, VA.

So, that is the little logo of the restaurant. Right now the business is going through a bit of a lull, hopefully people will start going out again, after they pay off their x-mas visa bills. It actually works better for me because it is easier to learn the business when it is not thrown at you all at once.

Well, I don't have any new pics, I tried to take a snapshot of a redneck for you guys the other day. Except my camera makes that stupid camera sound when I take a picture, I could not bear to do it. I just thought it would be too embarrassing for the unfortunate redneck if he knew I was going to take a picture of him. Now I feel like an asshole. But it's not my fault, he was wearing the mc hammer, weight lifters pants with a zebra pattern and to top it off, a well-groomed mullet.

Well guys, take care, mad love from east to west.
Steve

  1. NO, i am still THE BIG WINNER!! we are actually only 2 hours behind you right now since AZ never changes its clocks, so come spring we will be 3 hours behind you. on that note, yes, i am still getting up before you, if you are getting up at 7am that is 5 am here in the desert and i left my house 10 minutes ago. i get up around 4.15 and that will be the latest i will ever get to sleep, we are at our latest 'window' for sunrise. all is well, i have almost gotten over it and have pushed my bedtime back to 9ish so its not so bad. i still super love my job and was given my promotion last week, so it is official; I am the lead biologist earning the lead's salary! everything is just falling into place at work, I am learning how to deal better with my crew, the 3 biologists that work alongside me are all very different. Jody is 53 years old and is very god loving. she means well but is really flaky and usually needs to be told things multiple times and she is afraid of the computer, really afraid. i will take some time to spend teaching her how to use excel, soon. Jen is 42 and has been looking for new work since i started. she is very negative and unhappy person. i am learning how to deal my best with her and making sure that her attitude does not spread amongst us. Aaron is 24 going on 17. he is very young and this is just a job. he doesnt take much initiative but does as he is told. so it works ok. these aren't complaints just some info of what i am dealing with:) I welcome the challenge and look forward to continue easing my way in. On the other hand yesterday my boss called me and told me that we were packing it up at 11am and going to his house for a bbq. PRetty sweet, picked up Shyama and had beers in hand by one followed by some flank steak and beans-what could be more fab!!!
I worked 12days straight and am looking forward to a day of R & R with my man and the tv-GO RAVENS! GO CARDS! hope the old ladies arent too bad, this is a perfect opportunity to score urself a sugar mama! you are such a charmer it wont be too difficult:) Shyam told me about your texts yesterday......hmmmmm, that is really too bad, sad and well disappointing! i think it is due time we chat..i am planning on calling you later:) take care STebes, always good to hear from you!

  2. hey steve,

that was fun skyping you the other day, i'd never done that before. man, talk about some disappointing games this weekend huh? the only close game was the chargers and jets. i don't really care who wins anymore, as long as its not the colts.

so i still haven't got word from any job opportunities... i'm really hoping to hear from amanda's boss this week about that security gig. we'll see what happens. woke up to rain in the desert today, its pretty cool when that happens.

anyways, nothing much new to report. just wanted to drop a line and say hi. hope you're having a good day. peace -ss

  3. Yeah, the Skype thing was pretty cool. It was great seeing you guys. I am pretty sure we all look better in real life as opposed to the mini-camera images of ourselves. Those football games were a bust, the only good thing that came out of them was that there is a big Jets fan at work. She even has the big Jets logo on the back window of her car. So she was stoked and that was cool.

The weather here was nice for that one day and now it is raining again. I am enjoying not walking a dog in the rain now because I know I will be walking a dog in the rain soon. Still a few weeks out, but I will find my perfect dog.

Now a perfect girlfriend, that is a different story. There doesn't seem to be anyone at work that interests me but I can't say I've paid much attention to anything but learning my duties. Ha, I said duties. :)
Actually, I haven't seen many cuties since I got here. Maybe they hibernate in the winter time.

Ok, I'm tired and my melatonin is kickin in. Enjoy the silence,
    sh
